Founded in 1977, the National Chimney Sweep Guild has long set the precedent for innovation, professionalism, and community among chimney and hearth professionals. The aim of NCSG is to provide representation, proven industry standards, camaraderie, and networking. We accomplish this through education, industry specific publications, and a yearly convention that brings the industry together on a national platform.

The NCSG provides a space for like-minded individuals to exchange best practices and ideas, while sharing in the trials and triumphs that are unique to the chimney and hearth profession. By joining the NCSG, you are automatically plugged into this network of entrepreneurs, colleagues, and peers. Many of our members, in fact, have met lifelong friends. NCSG also delivers opportunities for you to give back to both your local and global communities by volunteering your time and wisdom.
 
Influence
There’s no surprise that there is strength in numbers, and by growing our Guild we increase our political clout and empower you. The NCSG advocates for our industries and interests at federal, state, and local governments, officials, and regulators. We also work with key stakeholders in our industry such as the Hearth, Patio, and Barbecue Association and state and regional chimney sweeping associations. Representation is important, so we send representatives to National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) 211, 54, and 31 code councils.

Member Types

  • ​Voting: ($499 annually/$44.58 monthly) Chimney service company membership. Entitles company to one (1) vote in NCSG elections (voter must be designated representative who signed the Code of Ethics). 
  • Affiliate: ($279 annually/$26.25 monthly) Includes non-chimney service companies and groups affiliated with the industry, which are also not defined as a Supplier Member. 
  • International: ($279 annually/$26.25 monthly) Non-voting membership for chimney service companies outside of the United States.
  • Retired: ($179 annually/$17.92 monthly) Non-voting membership for retired sweep company owners who still wish to maintain fellowship in the industry. Includes significant discounts on convention registration.
  • Supplier Member: ($729 annually/$63.75 monthly) Any sole proprietorship, partnership, or corporation that manufactures and/or supplies goods and/ or services to the chimney service industry shall be eligible for membership in the Supplier Member category.
  • ​Dual Member: ($729 annually/$63.75 monthly) Chimney service/supplier company combination membership. Note: Dual Members must also sign the NCSG Code of Ethics for Service Companies.
