H.O.T: Steel Fireplace Cutout and PriorFire Retrofit - Kempner, TX

We will be cutting out a steel fireplace unit using plasma torches, oxy-acetylene torches, and a petrogen torch. In this class we will demonstrate techniques and tools to safely and effectively remove SFU’s. Once the unit is removed, we will break out tile, apply PCR, install an 8” liner, parge the chamber, and install a PriorFire Retrofit unit. SaverSystems own James Phillips will be on site to demonstrate several chimney exterior repair products as well as the PriorFire system. Copperfield’s Texas rep, Justin Jensen will also be on hand to discuss the liner we are using, the 8” hybrid pre insulated system. This class will take approximately five days, come for a couple days or stay for the whole thing! Lunch will be provided. Please bring your own PPE. PPE required for this job: safety glasses, earplugs, hot work gloves, gloves with a minimum ANSI A1 cut level, respirator, appropriate clothing and footwear for working on a fireplace and on a metal roof, fall arrest system if you’ve got one.
